so i keep forgetting that i own a blog – how responsible right? are there blog police? surely. am I going down in bad artist history? probably. I just want to make art and try to sell more of it. spend time at the beach and really – just get in a few witty comments on other peoples pages. I’m here for smiles, cocktails , random haiku and just to leave “it” a little better than I found it – whatever ‘it’ is.
Happy Tuesday – it’s not friday, but it’s def. not Monday.
I’ve been teaching myself to digitize my artwork. This is a combination of my hand lettering and an abstract Watercolor flower. I decided that it might be fun to create a new way to share artwork…. so….
Introducing a new art game – kinda like Cards Against Humanity except you pick the answers from your life instead of a pile of cards (and you decide whether or not it’s humane…)
To play, simply put your choice of fill in the blanks in the comment section or print the piece, add your words and share (#whimsyvillefun) or post on Whimsyville’s Facebook Page under today’s post (Jan. 24, 2016) . Best original answer wins a ‘digital’ version to print out …. tell me what you are thinking, good or bad….
No its not another ‘cheesy’ valentines day post , I did that last week – it’s a present. It’s a list of ‘happy’ words. Cut them up, transfer ’em – do whatever you would like – use ’em in your artwork… i only ask that if you repost or pin that you share using my blog . Love you, mean it.
The amazing Joanne Sharpe, coincidentally located in a suburb of Rochester right next to where I grew up, has this amazing, very doable online class. So we have had 11 lessons to date and here are some of my highlights: I had to skip lesson with the circle thing, it made me dizzy – aka I hate compasses …..
As a mostly visual artist, I am sometimes inspired by comedic words alone. Here are a couple of comments that made me want to get out the bright colors and get busy. They also made me think and if we have ever met in person, you know my brain is operating entirely in it’s own universe. (Unfortunately, the authors didn’t identify themselves – so if you know – please tell me ):
“as I lay in bed, looking at the stars, I wonder… where the heck is the ceiling?”
“If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?”
“The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you’d rather not.” – Mark Twain (I really think if I was around when he was alive, we would have been close friends.)
